Doubting the Wright Answer
The Moderate Voice has another piece off Rick Davis’ comment about using Wright:
As HuffPo is reporting, McCain campaign manager Rick Davis — he of Fannie and Freddie lobbying infamy— told Hugh Hewitt yesterday, in what was surely a meeting of minds for the ages, that “he is reconsidering using Barack Obama’s relationship with Reverend Jeremiah Wright as a campaign issue during the election’s closing weeks.”
I’m gonna throw my hat into the ring and call this one bogus. I don’t think Ayers has played out as the McCain campaign wanted, and I highly doubt Wright will be effective the second time around either. Davis may have been testing the waters with his comment, but guessing from what I’ve read, this one’s dead in the water.
McCain’s also earned back some respect in my book if TMV is right and he’s the one choosing to take a different path.
